About Us
We are a small team of passionate Amsterdammers on a mission to close the gap between food waste and food poverty — one rescue at a time.
Purple Link Foundation was born from a simple observation: Amsterdam's thriving hospitality industry generates enormous amounts of perfectly good surplus food every day — while just a few kilometres away, homeless shelters struggle to provide consistent, nutritious meals.
Founded in 2026, we set out to build the bridge between these two worlds. What started as a small volunteer operation with a single van is growing into a network connecting over 4 venues with 6+ shelters across the city of Amsterdam and beyond.
We believe that no good food should go to waste, and no person should go hungry — especially not in one of Europe's most prosperous cities.

To rescue surplus food from Amsterdam's hospitality industry and redistribute it to homeless shelters and charities — reducing food waste while fighting hunger in our city.
A city where no good food goes to waste and no person goes hungry. We envision a future where every hotel, restaurant, and caterer in Amsterdam is part of a circular food system that nourishes the most vulnerable in our community.

Our volunteers collect surplus food from partner venues every day — from hotel breakfast buffets to festival catering leftovers.
All food is inspected for safety and quality before being sorted and packaged for distribution.
We deliver food to shelters the same day it's collected, ensuring freshness and minimising waste.
We are a foundation — every euro donated goes directly into operations, not into shareholder pockets.
Every person deserves a nutritious meal. We treat everyone in our network — donors, volunteers, and recipients — with equal respect and care.
Food waste and hunger are not problems for tomorrow. We act today, every day, because every meal matters.
We believe Amsterdam's strength lies in its people. By connecting businesses, volunteers, and shelters, we build a stronger, more caring city.
Whether you donate, volunteer, or partner with us — every action makes a difference.
